In Darrin’s Own Words

Darrin Ford, M.A.

“I have experience working in multiple settings including intensive outpatient, day treatment, and private practice. I have created and designed intensive outpatient programs for sex addiction as well as drug addiction from the ground up. In each I have brought mindfulness and meditation practices to the forefront of my treatment programs which has resulted in a high-level of improvement in the lives of my clients.

I am directly trained by Patrick Carnes, Ph.D. Dr. Carnes is one of the leading researchers in the field of addiction and has been a pioneer in the field of sex addiction treatment.

Addictions to sex and other things are not about morality. They are not about any judgments of right or wrong. They are coping mechanisms we have used to adapt to emotional trauma in life. Genetics also plays a role, however, emotional trauma is almost always a highly influencing factor. Providing treatment gives me a sense of meaning and purpose in my life. I whole-heartedly feel it’s the greatest privilege in the world to be able to treat someone and see them heal and start living a fulfilling life, outside of their addiction.”

In Jenni’s Own Words:

“Do you wrestle with feelings of shame? Are in a constant struggle with fear? Does it feel like the monster under your bed has its grip on you? Here’s the good news! Monsters live in the dark. I can help you learn the tools to confront the monster and find peace.

I have a passion for helping people. By using evidenced-based approaches, I believe you can achieve the change you desire. I have experience in working couples in conflict that lack intimacy, individuals seeking answers, addiction, sexual trauma, depression, anxiety, and people who struggle with self-destructive behaviors. I am a therapist who will challenge you and, also be empathetic to your journey.

Change is scary and painful, but remaining emotionally idle is also painful and not effective. Are you ready to take back control of your life? Call me, allow me to help. You can do this. You are worth it.”

About Jeff De La Cruz, MS, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Ph: (562) 356-8686 Ext. 710; Email: , License # 98649

In Jeff’s Own Words:

Marriage and Family Therapist for Sano Center for Recovery“Have you participated in physical or emotional affairs during your relationship? Have you found yourself lying in your relationship even when you have nothing to hide? Do you worry that you will never be forgiven? If so, your relationship may be suffering from serious trust issues that could destroy it if not treated. Counseling is a neutral place for healing and forgiveness. It can be such a hopeless feeling to think that you will never be able to rebuild trust with your partner. I’m here to tell you that you can through understanding how these symptoms are embedded in your relationship and learning strategies to not only change dysfunctional patterns but protect your relationships in the future. I work with both individuals and couples struggling with trust and infidelity in their relationship to help them find hope again and begin working toward a stronger future.”

About Mayra Iniguez, MA, Marriage and Family Therapist Intern

Ph: (562) 356-8686 Ext. 712; Email: m, License # 81952. Supervised by Christy Cosper, M.A., LMFT, CSAT, Lic # 50688

In Mayra’s Own Words:

Marriage and Family Therapist Intern for Sano Center for Recovery“When life becomes unbearable and unmanageable due to addictions, trauma, compulsivity, elevated anxiety and depressive symptoms and we might believe there is something inherently wrong with us forgetting that we can and have the power to change our situation and circumstances. At times we try numerous times to alleviate our symptoms, but it seems that the harder we try nothing seems to work. Asking for help sometimes is perceived as a sign of weakness, but I would prefer seeing it as having the guidance and support we need to lead us in the right path and ultimately heal what has let to the manifestation of the current circumstances. My goal is not to just treat the symptoms, but rather get to the underlying root cause that triggered them. Sometimes when we only heal the symptoms, progress can be temporary before relapsing again.

I have worked with individuals of various cultures, socioeconomic status, ages, and challenges. It is my belief that everyone has their unique set of personal struggles, yet we are all meant to live a happy, healthy, peaceful, and fulfilling life. My intent is to help you align your mind, body and spirit in complete harmony because you deserve it!”
